<p>This project gave us a rare opportunity to show what high-quality uPVC can do when the pressure is at its highest. Every window we built had to protect people working in temperatures that can fall toward minus 50 degrees Celsius. The stakes were simple. The windows had to perform perfectly.</p>

<p>For many Europeans who move to New Zealand, our country’s stunning landscapes and relaxed lifestyle are a dream come true. Unfortunately, there’s one thing that often comes as an unwelcomed shock – the poor standard of windows and how cold the average Kiwi home can be in winter.</p>



<p>Unlike the superior double-glazed, energy-efficient windows that are common throughout Europe, most New Zealand homes come with poorly glazed aluminium or timber windows that struggle to keep the cold out. It’s a frustration that leaves many new arrivals searching for ways to make their homes warmer and more comfortable.</p>



<p>That’s exactly what happened to John and Marie*. When they made the big move to New Zealand from Ireland, they were ready to embrace a new lifestyle. But what they didn’t expect was how much their home’s windows would struggle to keep their home warm during the chilly New Zealand winter.</p>



<p>“The problem was moving to New Zealand and realising that the houses are pretty shit over here. Essentially, the fact that our houses are cold. Let’s just say that my wife feels the cold”, John laughs.</p>
